Only six people fishing this week, made it simple with the pegging three on each side.
You would of thought that all of us would of caught loads tonight as the water was nice and warm, far from it.
33lb was the top weight maid up from big skimmers and F1s from peg 23. Most of the fish coming from down the edge on banded 6mls.
Second was the Aussie (i have another top set now so i can compete)Steve Rogers from peg 26 with 26.7lb

Wed 2 June New Lake
Fishing times tonight 6.00pm to 9.40pm
At last a nice sunny evening with no rain forecast, a quick walk around the canal lake just to make sure all was ok and back to the car park for the draw.
With the clubs chairman paying a quick visit at the draw and giving a brief rundown on the previous thursday evening match who knows what it was going to fish like.
All out at 9.40 and a few fish had been caught, mainly F1s and mainly on the right hand bank looking down the lake. hard pellet slipped into a small bait band or soft pellet on the hook seemed to do the business tonight.keeping the fish coming all night seems to be the secret when fishing for F1s. No big carp showed which was unusual, not even tempted by the out backs own Steve Rogers semi suspended floating crust.
Westleigh's Johny Clarke had a nice net of big roach and small F1s from peg 26 and Simon Belchem managed to amass a few carp from peg 29 even with the horses running up and down his margin peg.

Wed 26th May Old Lake
Fishing time this evening was 6.00pm till 9.30pm
The first time i have ever seen the level on a lake rise whilst fishing, the forcast for Wednesday was rain but during the day there were some light showers and a bit of sun, nothing untoward. At 8pm the skys opened and it pissed down, turning the fish right off, what a load of old rubbish that fishing is good in the rain. all that happens is you get wet.
Peg 6 went in the bag tonight for a change, it is normally left out and peg 5 goes in,that left the lake that end virtually free with lots of room for who ever drew it. the last couple of years pegs 5 & 6 haven't really showed any form in the evening matches.
Neil Mercer Drew peg 6 and straight away was moaning that it was crap,With Darren north on peg 1 and Trigger on peg 2 it was going to be a bit of a scrap for the top three.
Well Neil won the match with 33.12 with carp caught down the edge late on Just beating his taxi fare mate trigger by three pound.
Neil Mercer..................33.12.......peg 6

Wed 19th May New Lake
Fishing times this wed 6.00pm till 9.20pm
Summer is here at last, there has been an upturn in the weather with the evening temperature a steady 16 deg it was a far change from the prev week on the old lake where it plummeted to 6deg by the all out.
A quick walk around the lake before any one turned up and the silvers were hard at it (spawning) if the temperature stays as forested the the carp will soon be at it as well, 20 to 23 deg (water temp) and they will spawn leaving the eggs to hatch, they take about 3 to 4 days to hatch into fry as long as they are fertilised by the male within 60 seconds.
That's Enough biology now.
At the draw the well performing peg 29 went to the PSV draw bag Darren North,With a grin on his face he was off like a rocket to get set up.With the all in under way it was John Clarke who was making good headway with small carp every put in from peg 32 on corn right over to the reeds.
Everyone was catching well until about 8.00pm then all the small carp and F1s just shut up shop for the night, then everyone was left scratching around for a decent carp or a smattering of small roach and skimmers.
Brian Shanks Took Top spot off peg 26 catching well at the start then switching to banded 4mls on the hook to take decent roach and skimmers.
Close on his heels was Darren North from peg 29 who missed out by 8lb.
Also out of the money spot was Steve Rogers who claimed to have lost enough fish to open a chip shop from peg 35
Spare a thought for Simon Belchum who had a double fig grass carp leap from the security of his lap straight onto his pole and breaking two sections.
Results
Brian Shanks..............37.4lb
Darren North.............29.8lb
Johny Clarke.............25.4lb
Steve Rogers.............25.0lb
Keith Billder.............22.8lb
Simon Belchem..........14.00

Wed 12th May Big Lake
Fishing Times This Wed 6.00pm till 9.05pm
The temperature this morning was a massive 4 deg and by the time of the all in some 10 hours later i don't think it had gone up by much,we also had some rain which i think was from Iceland.
With a few people not showing we were shore of plenty of room on the old lake which was just as well as the charity match on sun fished extremely hard.
Steve Rogers (team ebay )was off to a unbeatable start with his second fish being a 10lb common from peg 5,fishing at 3mts at the bottom of the shelf with corn.
Also off to a good start was Ian Sweeney on peg 2 who continued to catch small tench and skimmers all evening fishing out by the island.
Winning peg this wed was peg 11. Brian Shanks fished at 12mtrs for F1s and tench on sweet corn then a switch down to his left hand margin saw carp queuing to get on the hook.

Sligthly better turn out this week (two more)giving us 6 in all, with 15 pegs to choose from it was easy to sort, out giving all six plenty of room. wheater conditions were dry with very wind from the north, plenty of colour in the water so it was going to be a good couple of ours fishing.
Brian Shanks drew peg 23 and caught roach from the off followed by small carp close in all on corn and pellet, in second place was Darren North with a similar bag fishing down the edge and over to the far bank.

Wed 14th April
Well with the winter now behind us it's time to start the Wednesday evening matches again.
All are welcome £10 all in (Juniors welcome no peg fee)
Draw at 5.30pm Fish 6.00 till Dusk.
With not advertising the fact that we had started the evening matches up there was only 4 of us for this first one,we managed to hold out till 8.20 before the light disappeared.
we were on the old lake which has some 20pegs on it, of which we fished 19,15,13 and 12.
this end of the lake always seems to fish better thru the evening matches than the bowl end of the lake, probably down to the silty bottom.
There were a couple of people pleasure fishing on pegs 3 and 5 when we got there,so it suited us even more to go up the other end.
It was a close affair between the 4 of us Trigger Transplant (alias Craig Edmunds)was 1st with 28lb from peg 15
2nd was his best mate Paul Elms from peg 12 with 26lb and third was Brian Shanks From Peg 19 with 25lb
Bringing up the rear all the way from Aus was Steve Rogers who failed to trouble the scales, think he was getting used to his new box from ebay.
Next week we will be on the canal lake,no need to ring just be there for 5.20pm
